I was called in by a record label to photograph Felicia, one of their new artists for an upcoming release and publicity schedule. They stated early on that she was quite shy about having her photo taken and that the way I work with my clients to create a calm atmosphere for the shoot was a real deciding factor in choosing me as the photographer for this shoot.

On the day of the shoot, Felicia didn’t seem too bad, but admitted that she had been unable to get a good night’s sleep the night before due to worrying about the shoot.
However, once we got going, she was a natural and came up with some really interesting poses and characterisations. 20 minutes into the shoot, one of the record label managers even reckoned we had already nailed the album cover and everything else after was extra.
Once the shoot was over, Felicia thanked me for making her feel so much at ease and for such an easy going shoot. It was a really good feeling to know that she had enjoyed herself and that we’d got the shots the label needed.
