On Location at Dungeness

Jono and I finally organised the location part of his promo shoot for his new EP and tour posters. We chose Dungeness. It is a very popular area with photographers due to the old fishing equipment, quaint cottages and desolate feel.It was mid-February and very cold when we travelled down to do the shoot. Like I said, the place has a really desolate feel and more so in the winter when there is hardly anyone around. The sun was shining occasionally from under a heavy cloud bank which gave the whole scene a really dreamy feel.

We did various shots in a candid style with Jono wandering around, interacting with various structures and objects. We also tried some Americana, lone-musician on the road style shots which I thought came out well but were perhaps not quite suitable for actual promotional use.

I absolutely love the light in this shot, and this is one of the great things about shooting on location; when the weather is right you get such a great atmosphere from the shots.

We shot for about an hour and then retired into Rye for a well deserved fish and chip lunch.
