It’s About Control

With studio portrait photography it’s all about control, so it’s a great place for taking portraits with special attention paid to hair, make-up and outfits. Shooting indoors means the weather can’t interfere, so you can also wear clothes and hairstyles that may be too delicate or intricate for a location shoot. I specialise in creating distinctive, vibrant portrait photography that really stands out.

Studio

Studio shoots take place in the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere of my home micro-studio in Crowborough, East Sussex, for individuals or couples. I shoot against a large variety of coloured backdrops and use flash lighting to create a wide range of looks and styles (99% of the studio shots in my portfolio are taken here). For larger groups, shoots at a larger local studio can be arranged or you might want to book a location portraits shoot.

The Look

It’s totally up to you what sort of look you want to achieve from your photo shoot, be it bright, edgy, glamorous, classic, elegant or abstract. I recommend that you bring a variety of outfits so that multiple styles can be incorporated into the same shoot. For example, you could have a smart outfit, a casual out fit and something else of your choice so you’ll have several styles of photos to choose from. This can all discussed with you beforehand. You can email me examples of photos or looks that you would like to emulate or let me know what sort of vibe you’d like to achieve.

After the Shoot

A few days after your portrait session, you will receive access to a private, online gallery at my Photostore where you can view and purchase your images.

All galleries remain online indefinitely with no expiry date and you can add photos to a favourites list to keep track of the ones you like the best and come back at any time to purchase. I provide the digital, high resolution retouched images as standard to give you maximum flexibility for creating your own prints, uploading to social networking sites or using to order other photographic products. Once you purchase an image, turnaround is often very fast and your images can be downloaded directly from my Photostore or provided on disc.
